A spin-off of the University of Stuttgart

Stuttgart Instruments is a spin-off of the University of Stuttgart, founded in 2017. We build broadly tunable, passively stable laser sources from the visible to the mid-infrared for demanding spectroscopy and microscopy.

Our systems are used across nanoscale infrared microscopy (s-SNOM), coherent Raman (SRS/CARS), trace-gas and photoacoustic sensing, ultrafast pump–probe studies, metasurfaces and nanophotonics, and increasingly in photonic and quantum-computing research. A selection of peer-reviewed publications produced with our systems is collected on the Publications page.

The company is based in Stuttgart, Germany, where systems are developed, built, and supported. Installations are in use at universities, research institutes, and industrial labs worldwide.
